spiritual front – moskal interview

Zimone gave an interview to russian Nikolaї Kondrakov on vk (source : https://vk.ru/@e_dark_folk-intervu-s-simone-salvatori-spiritual-front)

Below is the full english translation

Nikolai. Today we’re in Rome, and we have a wonderful opportunity to talk to Zimone Salvatori, the frontman of Spiritual Front. Hi Zimone, thanks for finding the time!

Zimone. Hi! Thanks for inviting me.

Nikolai. Let’s start with something current. Tell me, the latest SF release so far, the track Heavy Discipline — is it a single from a new album, or just a standalone track?

Zimone. Heavy Discipline is just a standalone track; we decided to treat our listeners. At the time of the release, we had no plans to include it on an album. But new material is on the way. We’re currently in the final stages before recording. We’re working again with Stefano Puri, with whom we made Black Hearts in Black Suits. There’s still a lot ahead of us, but things are moving forward. We even already have a title and an album cover!

Nikolai. That’s wonderful news! And Heavy Discipline really made a lot of people happy.

Zimone. Thanks! It turned out to be a good track.

Nikolai. Let’s move on to concerts, specifically concerts in Russia. Our mutual acquaintance, the leader of the Russian neofolk band Moon Far Away, Alexey Sheptunov — who also sends his regards — recently told me about your plans to come to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and even Arkhangelsk with concerts. How would you comment on that?

Zimone. I once played a concert in Arkhangelsk. And it was wonderful! It made me see Russia in a completely different way. You know, Moscow and Saint Petersburg are megacities, but Arkhangelsk is something unique — the true Russian North. And I really want to return to Russia with concerts, to play both in big cities and in smaller ones, and in different regions. I love Russia and want to explore different sides of life in this amazing country. Arkhangelsk served as a great aperitif, so to speak. So as soon as the global situation improves, I’ll come!

Nikolai. I assure you, you’re always a welcome guest here! Tell us more about your impressions of the Russian cities you’ve visited.

Zimone. We often played in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and I love these cities — I miss them and really want to come back! What I liked most, of course, were the people we communicated with — passionate, deeply involved; I felt we were on the same wavelength. We’re still in touch with many of them.

Nikolai. And what didn’t you like?

Zimone. Hard to say — probably the chaos and the pace of life. You know, Moscow is a very big city. But it didn’t spoil the overall impression.

Nikolai. Tell us some memorable story from those trips.

Zimone. I remember my first impression of Russia. I grew up on Hollywood propaganda and sincerely believed that rough, harsh people lived in Russia who hated Europeans. When I first came to Russia, everything turned out to be completely the opposite: people were polite and hospitable, the food was amazing, and the cities were strikingly beautiful. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to return again and again. You probably know that I received a lot of criticism for my attitude toward Russia. Some concerts in European cities were canceled, and people wrote all kinds of nonsense to me on social media. But all that is temporary — it will end. My impression, though, is forever.

Nikolai. I remember the concert in Moscow when you first performed the song Vladimir Central. The song was later released as a single and then appeared on the album Amour Braque in 2018. Many people here think it’s a cover or even a remake of Mikhail Krug’s song Vladimirsky Central. Is that true?

Zimone. I like Mikhail Krug, but when I wrote my Vladimir Central, I wasn’t yet familiar with his work. My song is inspired by the culture of Russian prison tattoos. I was deeply immersed in that topic and generally studying various criminal subcultures. Stories about Vladimir Central surprised me, and I wrote this song.

Nikolai. Don’t you think that the simultaneous rise of interest in criminal subcultures in Italy and Russia in the 20th century (the Italian mafia in pop culture and Russia’s “blatnaya” counterculture) is a sign of the closeness of the two countries and a kind of shared historical destiny — since both Italy and Russia went through a series of upheavals?

Zimone. Listen, that’s a very complex and very interesting question — I need to think about it. If you look closely, I think that in both Russia and Italy criminal subcultures were a kind of rebellion against the system. In reality, all of it was tragic and brutal, but in Italian culture today there’s an obvious romanticization of it — just as, it seems to me, there is in Russian culture. So as for closeness — definitely yes. As for historical destiny — that requires more thought.

Nikolai. Let’s talk about your early albums Songs for the Will (1999) and Nihilist Cocktails for Calypso Inferno (2001). Some songs were reissued in 2013 on the album Open Wounds, and some you even still perform occasionally at concerts. But most of the compositions seem completely forgotten. And yet there were masterpieces there: Solipsism, Secret Light of Lovers, and others. Why is that?

Zimone. You know, when I listen to them now, I feel uncomfortable for several reasons. Back then I didn’t know how to record and present them properly; they turned out raw, even though they were sincere. I like the concept, especially of the 2001 album, but the way it was recorded — better not to remember. And my life at that time was far from bright: lots of alcohol and drugs, experiments on myself, total confusion — I felt lost and didn’t know how to find myself. So yes, better not to revisit it. Many people asked me to re-record those things, and I reworked part of the material on Open Wounds. That’s why the album is called that — for me, it’s all open wounds.

Nikolai. Don’t you want to re-record other old tracks?

Zimone. No, that’s all in the past. And the only good thing about that story is that you can learn from your mistakes.

Nikolai. Let’s talk about another old album — the split you recorded with Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Satyriasis – Somewhere Between Equilibrium and Nihilism (2005). It became a cult release. How do you personally feel about it? Would you like to work with Tomas again?

Zimone. Actually, I would! We’ve talked about the possibility of releasing a second edition. Tomas and I are good friends. So why not? But it all comes down to being busy and having no time. Working on that album was interesting. I love those songs. But there was also an unpleasant story. The publisher screwed me over, and I didn’t receive any money for that release. It’s not that money was important to me — it’s more a question of decency. Overall, ORE is one of the best bands in the genre, and working with them is a great prospect.

Nikolai. Who else would you single out from the so-called dark folk scene? Who do you listen to, who do you respect?

Zimone. In the beginning, many bands were interesting; now it’s deadly boring! ORE are great, King Dude is pleasing, even though he swore he wouldn’t release new material, Moon Far Away do an excellent job combining tradition and modernity — I respect them a lot. They have a new album coming out on Prophecy soon, if I’m not mistaken?

Nikolai. Yes!

Zimone. I also like Irfan. They have an interesting concept. In many ways they’re similar to Dead Can Dance. But all that Of the Crap [Wand] and the Moon stuff, or that stinking Rome — I can’t stand them lately. Deadly boring — all the same, with tons of pretension and pathos.

Nikolai. What are your musical tastes in general?

Zimone. I listen to a lot of different things. I love Franz Ferdinand, of course I love Morrissey. I love a lot of ’80s music, soul music… I love a lot of metal — I’m a big thrash metal fan. Black metal doesn’t really do it for me, though it was interesting in the beginning.

Nikolai. You actually started your musical career in a metal band.

Zimone. Yes, that’s true. That’s why I still like heavy music.

Nikolai. Can those recordings be found anywhere?

Zimone. Oh, I hope you never find them [laughs]. They’re even more embarrassing than Songs for the Will. Anyway, if you ever come to my place, you’ll see a huge record collection there. The only thing I don’t really like is rap, probably.

Nikolai. Have you ever thought about returning to metal?

Zimone. Actually, not long ago we from Spiritual Front worked with the project Neromega and recorded an EP. It turned out to be a solid doom-stoner release. I’ll send you the link.

Nikolai. Let’s talk about literature. Do you read often? What do you like? Maybe you could name a top list of books that influenced you?

Zimone. I like reading, and lately I’ve been reading a lot of historical nonfiction. I’m generally interested in history and politics.

Nikolai. How do you feel about Russian literature?

Zimone. I read a lot when I was a student. I remember Dostoevsky affected me the most. I should reread him. Let me think and send you a list of books that influenced me.

Nikolai. Great! And if it’s not too much trouble, also write about albums that left a mark on you.

Zimone. I’d be happy to!

Nikolai. Deal! Thank you very much for this conversation.

Zimone. I hope I didn’t disappoint. Thank you!

Zimone did it again

So, a while ago, Side Line magazine reposted part of our articles here. Which of course our dear and legendary awesome-ish Zimone didn’t like. At all. We can only imagine him raging, sadly, after posting videos from WGT in Leipzig dedicated to his friends & enemies.

https://www.side-line.com/simone-salvatori-spiritual-front-goes-pro-putin-and-gets-massive-backlash/

Then, nothing. Until Kyiv was struck by a massive attack, including the bombing by russian army of the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv, with a KH-101 missile. Propagandists have been at it again, but, yes dear Zimone, this is an intact KH-101.

Image

So Side Line posted this on their Instagram, which led to the usual bitching of useful/less idiots whining about “what about Palestine” which is now the new “what about Iraq”.

AND HERE COMES ZIMONE IN ALL ITS LEGENDARY GLORY

Because he can’t help being a giant asshole and needs to make sure he’ll get the award of the biggest douche in the universe 2024 after winning it last year.

Those were screened under the Instagram post of Side-Line here before zimone starts to delete them in his usual way.

So, Side-Line reposted their article about our dear zimone… And… Well, zimone being zimone…

Don’t stop, zimone, you’re amazing.

Big mouth strikes again

Yay. A quote from Morrissey! Zimone’s favorite artist which he not only rips off but literally rapes through his last record. But let’s not talk about Zimone’s pathetic vocal performances on that awful album which required an autotuner.

Rants #1

Dear Zimone, what’s the “lost cause”?

Ah, there we are… I guess we know who you’re talking of. Why don’t you name them…? We can : ROME, DIE WEISSE ROSE, MOINEAU, KAELTE, BAIN WOLFKIND, who all went to play charity concerts in Ukraine, OF THE WAND & THE MOON, who released a support album on Ukrainian label OLD CAPTAIN and the label must be STEELWORK?

Are you talking to yourself?

Are you talking to yourself?

Zimone is feeling lonely.

Zimone is feeling lonely and speaking to himself. At this point I would suggest him some depression treatment.

There you go boy! That’s the spirit. That will be shitty, but at least it will keep you busy and away from a computer keyboard.

Nope.

Rants #2 - but it was never about ideology <whine whine>

A little bit about Berlin - And what about Iraq?

“Just as a reminder of how much a douche I am” – signed, Zimone

And Navalny died - And what about Iraq?

But what about Gonzalo Lira? And what about Iraq?

Oh we know about Gonzalo Lira : a MAGA-supporter, conspiracy theorist, antisemite, con-man, mysoginist, rapist, wife-beater, who smoked two packs of cigarettes a day and refused medication because “muh antivaxxxx” but he certainly never was a journalist. Yeah, that’s Lira on the first pic. You can use that as a cover for your next Lust Zyndicate album, Zimone.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzalo_Lira

From 2017 onward, Lira was active on YouTube under the pseudonym Coach Red Pill (CRP), an allusion to Red Pill and Black Pill symbolism in the manosphere community. The content was misogynistic and anti-feminist in nature, appealing to incels. Lira posted videos with advice such as “never date a woman in her thirties” and argued that all women wanted was money, a house, and kids, as only child-rearing would biologically validate them. In one video, he advised viewers living in Western democracies to move to “a poor, underdeveloped country” due to the former’s supposed “totalitarian” deployment of COVID-19 vaccines. In November 2021, Lira deleted most of his CRP content and began posting under his legal name.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Lira shifted the majority of his commentary to the war. Lira’s content was heavily pro-Russian, praising Russian military actions and denying Russian attacks on civilians, as well as doxxing Western journalists. His content, which has been described as Russian propaganda and disinformation, was amplified on social media by Kremlin-linked accounts and praised by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

https://vatniksoup.com/en/soups/141/

Gonzalo has tried all sorts of careers to make an easy buck. In the 90’s, he wrote corny spy-action books with characters such as “Duncan Idaho, the Langley roadrunner who skirts the line between brilliantly daring and foolishly reckless” in his hardly-a-bestseller, Acrobat.

He’s also co-written,produced & directed a campy action film Secuestro in 2005.After his failure as both an author & as a filmmaker,Lira disappeared from the public sphere, only to re-appear in 2010 as an “economic expert”, forecasting hyperinflation threatening the US dollar.

His predictions were published on a prestigious “He Wall Street” website. He was also contributing to Business Insider, a website known for publishing fake news and for allowing the use of anonymous sources “at any time for any reason”.

He’s also written articles for the far-right, libertarian blog ZeroHedge. Steve Keen, an Australian economist, described Gonzalo as an “over-promiser” and as an “under-deliverer”. He also described him as a “sleaze” who refashions himself as an expert on any chosen topic.

Then around 2017, during the peak of the so called “Red Pill Movement” on Reddit, Lira found a new opportunity in “guiding” young men in life and became known as the “CoachRedPill”. At this point he was almost 50-year-old geezer spreading ideas such as “women over 30 are ruined”, “all women only truly desire money”, and “the degenerate Western culture pushes them to chase only the hottest 15 % guys for meaningless sex”.

At the same time he’s selling digital seminars with topics ranging from dating to relationship advice.

He was relatively popular in the “manosphere”, and his Patreon still has almost 800 patrons, making him anything between 4000 and 8000 USD a month. His other Patreon makes him another 5500 USD a month.

The idea of the “decadent West” of course comes from Russian-spread propaganda, and at some point had made its way into the Red Pill community. Due to its contrarian views, the “manosphere” was also great breeding ground for conspiratorial and pro-Russian sentiment.

Lira was spreading COVID-19 conspiracy theories, while calling himself a “PureBlood” – someone who hasn’t taken the COVID-19 jabs. He’s also suggested that trying to start a family with anyone who’s had the vaccine is pointless since they are already infertile.

Around 2021 Reddit and other social media sites started censoring all “manosphere” related content, which naturally made Lira to move on to other things. He became a doomsayer, preaching about a “great war against China”, telling people to move to “poor and under-developed countries” since they “can’t afford to impose any totalitarian policies”. He’d allegedly been living in Kharkiv, Ukraine for some years before the war started. Lira’s wife is allegedly Ukrainian/Russian.

Around mid-February 2022, he was still confident that Russia wasn’t going to invade Ukraine and that it’s all just Western propaganda. He later insisted that he saw the invasion coming way before it happened.

When the full-scale invasion in February 2022 started, Gonzalo immediately became a professional analyst on the matter. During the first days, he said that “the commentary and analysis I post is without picking sides,” right after he’d picked the side of a genocidal maniac.

On 27 February 2022, he published a video defending Russia’s actions and plans for a regime change, and blaming the US for any destruction in Ukraine. His motivations for praising Russia are unknown, but it could be due to his need to feed his big ego and due to his need to be in the spotlight. Since the full-scale invasion, he’s basically just parroted the Russian propaganda on the war, for example saying that the Russians are “careful in not hitting civilian targets”, “Zelenskyy is a cokehead” and that the Bucha massacre was actually conducted by the Ukrainian State Secret Service, SBU. He’s also blamed Victoria Nuland for having “orchestrated the Euromaidan”. Lira was eventually detained by the SBU after he was taking pictures around Kharkiv. He allegedly gave up five other pro-Russian collaborators in exchange for house arrest or deportation.

He eventually chose deportation, was escorted to Poland, and allegedly moved to the Netherlands. There were also some rumors that he was decapitated by the SBU, which made his fellow propagandist, iEarlGrey, very upset.

Gonzalo is also a big fan of the worst combat analyst, Douglas Macgregor, whose out-of-this-world predictions he shares on almost daily basis. He’s also been interviewed by another pro-Kremlin propagandist, George Galloway.

To conclude: Lira is a grifter and an opportunist who’s always looking for a new ways to earn more money. He has an enormous and fragile ego, he’s extremely thin-skinned and gets upset when his shitty takes on Ukraine (or on anything) are challenged.

Like Jackson “Z” Hinkle, Lira’s a “Merchant of Rage”, making money from outrage and from contrarian views, which is why people should just ignore him.
Block, and move on.

And what about Assange? And what about Iraq?

“Honour the real fighters” – come on …. What about Iraq, Zimone?

https://vatniksoup.com/en/soups/269/

Let’s quote Vatnik soup again about Assange :

In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce an Australian hacker, publisher and activist, Julian Assange. He’s best-known as the founder of WikiLeaks, leaking hacked and stolen data, cooperating with the Russian intelligence, and for being under criminal investigation in the US.

Julian’s activism probably comes from his father, John Shipton, an “anti-war activist” who’s helped Julian with launching WikiLeaks and the WikiLeaks Party. He also arranged a trip to Syria to meet with Bashar al-Assad and even planned to open an office for the party there.

In recent years, Shipton has been seen regularly at Australian “Z-rallies” in support of the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine. Incidentally, Shipton got interested in Julian after he became famous in Australia – before that, he was almost completely absent from Julian’s life.

By 1987, Assange had found his way into the hacking community, and by 1991 he was “probably Australia’s most accomplished hacker”. Many of his hacking operations attacked the US and its “military-industrial complex”, including NASA and MILNET.

In 1994, he was charged with 31 counts of crimes related to hacking. He eventually struck a plea deal, pleaded guilty and was given a fine of 2100 AUD. He later described the trial as a formative period & as an experience that led him to start WikiLeaks over ten years later.

In December 2006, Assange published an essay that described WikiLeaks’ strategy and purpose: the group would use leaks to force organizations to “reduce levels of abuse and dishonesty”.Some of the leaks exposed widespread corruption and had a significant impact in some countries.

In April 2010, WikiLeaks released a video of alleged US war crimes in Baghdad in July 2007. In 2010, they released over 250 000 US diplomatic cables, an incident that later became known as the “Cablegate”. Allegedly, Assange was the one who helped to decrypt the data.

Assange published the leaks in their original form, without censoring any names. This put hundreds of dissidents in Afghanistan and Iraq at “risk of serious harm, torture and even death”. Some sources “disappeared” after the publication of unredacted documents.

A report told that the leaks put hundreds of Afghans at risk for fighting against the Taliban. To this, Assange commented that “Well, they’re informants,” continuing that “So, if they get killed, they’ve got it coming to them. They deserve it.”

In 2010, Assange’s associate, WikiLeaks’ representative in Russia and eastern Europe and raging antisemite, Russian Israel Shamir allegedly gave a list of “organisers, instigators and rioters, including foreign ones” to Belarus’ dictator Lukashenko, whom he greatly admired.

In 2012, it was reported that Russia Today (now RT) would give Assange his own talk show. On the show, Julian interviewed many anti-US and pro-Kremlin figures, including Noam Chomsky, Pakistani politician Imran Khan, and the secretary-general of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.

During the US 2016 presidential election, WikiLeaks released hacked emails and documents from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. Cybersecurity experts stated that the attack on the DNC server was conducted by GRU, a Russian military intelligence agency. The Mueller report concluded that GRU used an alias “Guccifer 2.0” to share the content with WikiLeaks and others. The e-mails also gave birth to various conspiracy theories, including Pizzagate and Frazzledrip.

Assange has also been in contact with several figures close to Trump – in 2016 he communicated with Don Jr., and in 2017 with Roger Stone. He also suggested that a DNC staffer Seth Rich could’ve been the source of the DNC e-mails and that he was killed for this.

In 2016, WikiLeaks also received a massive cache of documents about the Russian government. The total size of the data package was 68 gigabytes, more than 50% of which hadn’t been published before. But “Assange gave excuse after excuse” to not publish them.

During the same year, Assange dumped a cache of files on Saudi Arabia. These documents exposed a Saudi man arrested for being homosexual, names of several Saudi citizens suffering from HIV & virginity status of many Saudi women.

He called it “not even worth a headline.”

WikiLeaks attempted to silence the critics in 2017 by publishing a “Spy Files Russia” dump which contained information on a Russian online investigation system SORM. The system had been exposed before, and the leak didn’t contain much of new information on how it works.

Assange was heavily involved in the Catalonia independence movement, and he was seen as the movement’s international spokesman. Russia was heavily involved in the project, and many Russian officials and former intelligence officers were involved in planning the movement.

In 2017, Russian diplomats held secret talks in London to assess whether they could help Assange flee London and travel to Russia. Four different sources claimed that the plan was supported by the Kremlin, and that it would allow Assange to travel to Russia and live there.

Currently, there’s a debate whether Assange is a journalist or activist. In my view, Assange’s actions have been highly unethical and he’s put thousands of innocent lives in danger. He’s also been extremely selective about which leaks to publish and which to withhold.

There’s also strong evidence that, like his father, he’s extremely anti-US and biased towards the Kremlin. His associates had strong connections with Russia, he planned to flee to Russia and even made a propaganda show on Russia Today back in 2012.

When asked about Wikileaks role as a whistleblower in Russia, Julian stated that Russia already has Kremlin critics such as Navalny and newspapers like Novaya Gazeta.

Big Mouth Never Shuts Up

Congratulations, you made it to the bottom.

 Can we go even lower?
As Louis Cachet would say – let’s find out………….

13/06 Bratislava, Slovak radio concert hall ( Slovakia)
14/06 Prague, Underdogs (Czech Republic)
27/07 Fosen (Norway)

It all started with this.

On Friday 10 November 2023, Simone Salvatori, who we will now call Zimone, announced two special solo sets in moscow and saint petersburg, russia, right after dates in Tbilisi (Georgia), Almaty (Kazakhstan, but Zimone can’t spell it properly) and Istanbul (Turkey), Turkey being the only country in Europe where you can get a flight to russia.

What followed has been a shitstorm of a massive size to a point where Zimone deleted the announcement and issued a rather bad “apology” post, which is still regularly fueled by Zimone himself through his childish comments.

Here are some of his “best” moments of panic, insulting his audience and digging further down the shithole where he belongs.

"Z" shit

Some concerned audience members, from Ukraine and elsewhere, started out to point out certains posts that were liked by Zimone, including the famous Z post by Fabrizio Giannese, his good putinist friend from band Aborym. As well as other posts from Zimone himself (if someone has a screenshot of the one where he was mentioning “ukronazis”, monthes before announcing the moskal concerts, please deliver)

For his defence, Zimone replied that he “didn’t understand the post” – here translated from Italian to English. Nevermind that Zimone is Italian, apparently he can’t read his own language.

...and now we nominate Zimone for the award of the Biggest Douche in the Universe

Please remember these when you will read further down that Zimone never meant to be unrespectful.

Warsaw and Vilnius concert cancelled

The concert in Warsaw (Poland), scheduled just two days after on 12 November, was immediately cancelled by the promoter, as well as the concert in Vilnius (Lithuania) scheduled on 20 April 2024.

And what a nice idea from Zimone to immediately insult and threaten audience members and concert promoters. Since then he deleted all of his comments but here are some that have been saved.

Georgia/Kazakhstan/Turkey concerts cancelled

So, first things first, Zimone, if you read me, I know you’ll read me : it’s Kazakhstan. Not Kazakistan. That doesn’t exist.

Anyway, the promoter Pink Hearts immediately cancelled the concerts scheduled in May in Tbilisi, (Georgia), almaty (KazakHstan) and Istanbul (Turkey).

That’s only at that moment that Zimone dropped off the the russia dates, because he was obviously planning to profit off being in Istanbul to take a flight to Mordor, the nearest place where he could fly to russia.

That would be some kind of 'apologies' in a parallel dimension

“now I understand”
“I never meant to be unrespectful and offensive”

Well Zimone, you sure showed us how you understood and didn’t mean to be “unrespectful”.

It’s good to have that reply from Fabrizio Giannese, Zimone’s BFF, side by side with those very clumsy apologies.

“There is no ideology involved”

Yes, there’s no ideology behing all those anti-EU, antivax, antisystem”, anti-NATO that you post every day. Not a single bit of ideology. But you’re a rebel. But no ideology. But yes but no but yes but no.

Aftermath

So what do we learn : that Zimone is a narcisstic retard? Yep.

Here we have a little discussion between Fabrizio Giannese and dear Zimone (as well as with Roberto Alessandro Filippozi of italian webzine Darkroom Magazine, who did a veryyyy good review of the Donbass support compilation by our dear Eurasian Artists), which basically helped Zimone to get the famous video extract of Poroshenko about “the bambini of Donbass in cellars”. That is literally the video that he posted on his comment a few hours later to Veronica Anrathi’s posts quoted earlier. Zimone, it’s so nice to have friends who are slightly less retarded than you like Fabrizio, keep them close to you, you’ll need them when you’re clueless.

Congratulations, you made it to the bottom.

 Can we go even lower?
